A brief description of Desparpajo City

     Situated on a secluded island near the world-wide famous Iberian Peninsula, we can find this quaint underpopulated place known as Desparpajo City.

     The first thing that catches the tourists´attention is the magnificent city hall, which is the heart of the city, and the spacious oval-shaped square that surrounds it, where citizens have an enjoyable restful haven to sit while the read the local newspaper and warm their throats with a glass of the typical home-made beverage: black vodka with a sprinkle of wine.

     The laberinthine shady streets, which are full of life, are the veins connecting the city. Dealing with obstinate old fashioned people, meeting women selling "churros" in every corner or facing kids whose education is mainly provided by the popular culture is the daily routine of the tourists who come here looking for something different.

     As we walk around, we can look up to realize that the city is surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains that seem to wrap around this special place, as if they wanted to protect it from the degeneration of time and preserve it unspoilt for centuries.

     Without realising, we reach the head top district of Desparpajo City where we can admire a real-size granite sculpture of the local superhero: the "Hormigallo", who has saved the city several times. It is said that the person behind the mask, whose identity remains obviously unknown, carries out an important role in Desparpajo City´s society: could it be the randy mayor? A trustworthy policeman? The overweight bartender? Who knows...

    

     In any case, I strongly encourage you to visit this picturesque city, to enjoy the weird but charmy people or even to solve the mistery about Hormigallo´s true identity. You will be welcome with arms wide open.
